About the role

We are looking for a master to command our 3,600-passenger cruise ship on seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean rotations out of Miami, with occasional calls in the Bahamas and Mexico. Bridge team management follows a bridge resource management model with a staff captain as second-in-command and a bridge team of first and second officers standing the watches under your overall command.

You will hold ultimate responsibility for navigational safety, ISM/ISPS compliance, port state control readiness and passenger and crew safety across every voyage, and represent the company in dealings with port authorities and the corporate marine operations office. An unlimited master's certificate of competency (TR or equivalent STCW CoC), a current ILO/MLC Medical Certificate and at least fifteen years' sea time with prior command experience on a large passenger vessel are required.

Responsibilities

  • ISM/ISPS compliance and port state control readiness
  • Passenger and crew emergency response leadership
  • Liaison with port authorities and corporate marine operations
  • Fuel efficiency and voyage planning oversight
